Our families keep telling us that we should open a restaurant someday. This is probably as close as we’ll get.

The Herbivore:

Upon leaving for college, I made the decision to go vegetarian. Not so long into my freshman year, I caved and am now a pescatarian (meaning I eat fish, especially fish caught by the Carnivore!). I can’t say that I feel like I’m missing out on anything. I love food, and am an avid food blog reader, with hundreds of links in my “Recipes to try” bookmark folder.

About 80% of those recipes are desserts. My sweet tooth is unrivaled, which is convenient seeing as making pies and cakes are pretty much my favorite. I’d like to think I’m pretty good at it, and the Carnivore seems to agree, dubbing me the “Van Gogh of pies”. Speaking of the Carnivore..

The Carnivore:

As you can probably guess, his specialty is all things meat. Luckily for me, he’s also a fisherman who likes to catch, clean, and cook up a fresh caught meal. I know, he’s a keeper. As for meat, some of his specialties include some killer fried chicken, steak au poivre, and barbecue ribs. He will be writing some of the posts, and maybe even sharing some of his secrets.

What we hope to accomplish with this blog:

Really, this is a fun summer project that will encourage us to cook more. It’s a win-win. We will be trying our best to modify some of Kurt’s favorite meat recipes to make them vegetarian/pescatarian friendly, in order to make both sides of the dinosaur kingdom will be happy. But really, I’m just content to eat mashed potatoes for dinner.
